The Light Above Amsterdam

Solo  Photography Exhibition

Exhibition Dates: August 01, 2016 through January 31, 2017

Gallery Location: The Grand Amsterdam

Everybody might say many nice things about Amsterdam, also they can try to fix the moment with it.

I also did the same thing. I have tried to catch the right time to capture the right moment to show this beautiful city in this selection.

I have concerned  only one thing during this time, that is  to seek also the soul of the city.  I have tried to catch The Light Above Amsterdam. This collection consist of 15 carefully selected  panoramas of Amsterdam.

Each panorama made by between three to eight pictures. Panoramic photography is a technique of photography, using specialized equipment or software, that captures images with horizontally elongated fields of view.

Panoramic Photography is capturing images on a wider format,  so I can include much more than what eyes can see naturally from a point. To capture a panoramic image, one needs a wider aspect ratio so that there is a view which is unobstructed of a vaster area.

Another great advantage of this technique is resolution. Because I made one pano from about 5 to eight pictures, each panoramic photo contains a huge amount of pixels and great amount of details.

The Grand

The location of the exhibition is the one of the most known and the most historical place of Amsterdam.

The Grand.

In quite a unique manner, the history of Amsterdam is reflected in the past and present style of the Sofitel Legend The Grand Amsterdam building. It was first the site of two 15th century convents, in the 16th century it was used as the “ Princenhof”.

Following that period the seat of the Admiralty and from 1808 the City Hall of Amsterdam.

It became a hotel in 1992.
